( About )
Gentag exists to reduce waste in the fashion industry by crafting clothing from carefully selected deadstock and surplus materials, breathing new life into textiles that would otherwise go to waste.
Founded in 2023 by Stephanie Felice Andreasen, Gentag emerged from a deeply personal journey and a commitment to rethink our roles when creating. Growing up between Malta and Denmark, Stephanie spent countless hours playing dress-up in her grandmother’s closet, where she became captivated by the timeless silhouettes and original textile compositions of the past. After more than a decade in the fashion industry, she saw firsthand the excessive waste and overproduction that had become prevalent. It became clear that new paths needed to be created, ones that restore the value of garments and challenge the wear-and-dispose culture that has taken over.
Stephanie’s vision is not only to create every-day silhouettes that lasts, but also to contribute to a future where textiles don´t become waste.
Through thoughtful sourcing and a strong emphasis on supply chain transparency, Gentag uses only the highest-quality materials from prior production runs. Gentag aims to demonstrate that fashion shouldn't only be defined by trends but can honor the fun and authenticity of making clothes with what you have, inspired by timeless silhouettes of the past.
