( Our story )

Gentag is a study in repetition — rooted in Scandinavian simplicity, softened by subtle vintage and romantic references.

Each piece begins with what already exists.
Forgotten rolls of fabric, surplus textiles, materials chosen for their hand-feel, weight, and longevity. The fabric leads, shaping the garment rather than the other way around.

Founded by Stephanie Felice Andreasen, Gentag evolved from reworking vintage garments into small-scale production — with the intention of keeping textiles in use and creating clothing that feels natural to return to.

( Material & Production )

All Gentag pieces are made from deadstock and surplus textiles.

Existing materials — primarily sourced from Italy — are selected for their quality and character. Working this way means each fabric sets its own conditions, naturally limiting quantity and shaping the outcome.

Production takes place in Europe, in close collaboration with small manufacturers and skilled makers in Italy and Bulgaria. Smaller runs and one-off pieces are developed in Denmark.

( Looking Forward )

Gentag will continue to evolve through refinement rather than expansion.

Working with existing materials, exploring new ways of sourcing and reusing textiles, and deepening relationships with the makers behind each piece.

As the brand grows, the intention is to take greater responsibility across every layer — from material choices to production methods — while remaining transparent about what is possible and what is still in progress.

This includes continuing to explore lower-impact processes, such as natural dyeing, and finding ways to reduce and account for the brand’s overall impact.

Gentag is built on the idea that change happens through continuity. By staying with, adjusting, and improving — again and again.
