( Repair & Care )

At Gentag, we believe in creating a wardrobe that lasts. Whether it’s giving new life to a cherished piece or keeping your Gentag garments in top condition, we’re here to help you care for your clothes.

CARE GUIDE: How to Love Your Clothes

Gentle Washes Only

Hand wash or use a gentle cycle for delicate fabrics — think vintage silks and secondhand treasures.
- Always use cold water to prevent shrinkage and color fading.
- If it's a coat, send it to the dry cleaner at the end of each season, to keep it b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l.

Skip the Dryer

Air dry whenever possible! Your clothes (and the planet) will thank you.
- Lay flat to dry for knits to avoid stretching, and hang light fabrics to let wrinkles fall away naturally.

Spot Treat First

- Spills happen! Dab stains gently with dishwashing liquid first and leave it for 5-10 minutes before washing soap off with mid-temp water.
- For stubborn stains, try a mix of water and baking soda or a gentle stain remover.

Steam, Don’t Iron

- A steamer is a gentle friend to both vintage and new clothes. No risk of burning and it’s quicker!

Give Them a Breather

Rotate your wardrobe to avoid wearing out your favorites too quickly.
- Use padded hangers for delicate items and fold heavy knits to maintain their shape.

Store Thoughtfully

Keep clothes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Use breathable garment bags for vintage pieces you don’t wear often.
